So we are two weeks in to the DW Fitness Festive Fitness Challenge (you can follow my progress on Twitter by checking out the #WinterWonderbody hashtag!) and I’ve managed to lose 2lbs which is exactly what I expected to lose if I’m honest, even if I’m a little disappointed that it’s not more! It’s difficult to remember that the weight didn’t appear overnight so it’s not going to be lost overnight either as much as we wish it would.

The first week went really well, I stuck to my menu plan and was able to fit in three workouts over the course of the week which with my schedule was no mean feat! I’ve also set myself a mini challenge to hit the step goal on my VivoFit every day in October (it adjusts your goal daily depending on your previous performance) and so far I’m twelve for twelve!
The second week wasn’t as great as I ran out of time to make the muffins I’d planned to have for breakfast all week and ended up having a random assortment of things instead. I am still proud that I made the time for breakfast though as previously I would have just skipped it altogether and then ended up eating a lot more later on in the day. I can definitely see the difference eating a good breakfast makes for the rest of the day.
I’ve always been an all or nothing kind of girl when it comes to health and fitness. If I’m in the right mindset with the right motivation (like I am at the moment) then I actually enjoy meal planning and exercising and seeing the hard work pay off! On the other hand it’s very easy to fall off the bandwagon when you’re offered something like cake or a cocktail! Alcohol has been my biggest downfall over the past couple of weeks so I’m cutting it out altogether for the next fortnight. Well, until the 23rd October when I have a friend coming to stay for the weekend anyway!
In the past I’ve tried all sorts of fad diets in a bid to try to lose weight quickly; the Special K diet, the 5:2 diet and a juice only detox. I don’t think I’ve ever once hit my target weight with any of them because it was too easy to give up and I ended up piling on a lot more weight than I’d lost to end up where I was a month ago; at my heaviest ever weight and totally unhappy about it. Thankfully DW Fitness came to my rescue and I’m hopefully that this time I’ll be able to make it a lifestyle change rather than just another fad.
Well done! Every little bit lost helps 🙂
