Dear Diary

Dear Diary: Do you wanna be in my gang?

Do you wanna be in my gang?

This picture was taken the night I became part of Bangarang

I did and yet I’m still not 100% certain what got me here.

You see I’m a bit of a tough nut to crack. I endured more than my fair share of betrayal and backstabbing as a teenager and young woman to have great difficulty in trusting people. Because of this I’ve always been more than happy to sit on the sidelines of friendships.

Friend. I have such difficulty with that word. What makes a friend over an acquaintance? What defines a friendship?

I know a lot of people. At present I have 202 friends on Facebook but if asked I probably wouldn’t consider the large majority of them as friends. They’re people I’ve met whom I have enough in common with to want to see again but is that all you need for a friendship?

These guys though? These guys are definitely my friends.

And on International Women’s Day I wanted to post a little ode to these wonderful, incredible, sassy women. We’re not blogging friends, we’re friends who just happen to have met because we all blog.

I know that no matter what they will be there for me. They help me through my darkest of days and make me cackle with laughter on the brighter ones.

They are fearless, independent and remarkable in their own ways. The best Friday nights are those spend in the company of these beauties gorging on pizza and prosecco.

I’ve never been one to carelessly use the L word but I can tell you right here, right now that I 100% love these girls and I am so incredibly grateful to have them in my life. #Bangarang4Life
