Dear Diary: The Weekend #27

This weekend was actually pretty busy after the slothfulness of previous one. I met up with my friend Jen on the Friday night for dinner and a movie for the first time since I left to New York. It might not seem that long ago but we usually see each other at least once a week so it was a long time for us!

Second best exotic marigold hotelOur movie of choice was The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel which was lovely and totally lived up to the legacy of the original. Friday also happened to be the day that Leonard Nimoy died so I wasn’t in the best place emotionally and I started wondering what would happen if Dame Maggie Smith were to die given her significance in the Harry Potter world and I had a bit of a cry.

On Saturday I met up with Jen for another session at the cinema before heading to the second of our monthly afternoon teas. This time we went to The Colonnade hotel in Little Venice and while the food was very good the atmosphere wasn’t as nice as that of our previous one. I’ll be posting my full review of this later today.

I had to dash off to the Hampstead theatre afterwards where I was meeting Matt to see Hello/Goodbye starring Miranda Raison. I had made the stupid mistake of wearing heels in an attempt to be a girlie girl but it was the worst idea ever as I ended up with blisters on my little toes within a matter of minutes of leaving the house and I struggled to walk.

The play was actually really good. The story of a relationships first and last hour. I’m going to review it in a separate post for you as well but sadly we saw it on the last night of the run so you can’t go see it for yourself.

Sunday was super lazy, Matt didn’t leave until early afternoon and I worked on some cosplay stuff in front of the telly but nothing worthwhile showing you. My mood was incredibly low for no reason whatsoever so it wasn’t a very happy afternoon. There wasn’t any particular reason for it which is more annoying – I’m feeling a lot better about everything now though!

How was your weekend? Any exciting plans for this one?
