Last weekend I enjoyed my final £30 staycation with a night at the Park Plaza Victoria which you can read about here. It was definitely the most disappointing of the four that I stayed in and I probably wouldn’t recommend it.
My friend Matt had also joined me for the night as we hadn’t seen each other in a couple of months so on the Saturday morning we headed to Little Venice for the yearly Canalway Cavalcade which I’d seen people recommending on Twitter.
Once a year there is a gathering of canal boats around the Little Venice area. People put in a lot of effort to make their homes look pretty and it’s become quite a little event with stalls, live music and children’s activities to enjoy throughout the weekend as well as a parade of the boats. After a meander around all the stalls we headed further up the canal for brunch at The Summerhouse.
We opted not to have dessert and went back to the stalls to get some ice cream, homemade fudge and chocolate covered strawberries. I also left with a pink dinosaur balloon as an early birthday gift from Matt.
He headed home and I then spent the rest of the weekend in my pyjamas catching up on television. I had planned to apply for a few jobs too but I never really got round to it. I didn’t get dressed, only throwing on a pair of jeans and a coat on top of my pjs to pop to the corner shop. After a few manic weeks where I’ve found myself out and about almost every evening it was very much-needed and I feel a whole lot better for it!
How was your weekend? Any exciting plans for this one?
