Bloggeration Book Blogger Event

Bloggeration Notebook
*Disclaimer: I attended this event for free in exchange for blogging about the event. The below opinions are still my own and not influenced by this in any way.

When Sarah from Prosecco Diaries announced that she was going to be hosting her own blogger workshops I knew I wanted to attend one of them. Thanks to my super busy schedule there was actually only one of them I could make, one for book bloggers, and I put my name down in the hopes that even if I don’t exclusively blog about books my monthly roundup posts would be enough to secure me a place. You see the difference with the Bloggeration workshops is that they’re small and intimate – only 10 bloggers at a time which means everyone gets the chance to have their say about the topic on hand and hopefully learn something new.

The workshop was held at the gorgeous OBag Factory in Crouch End. When I first arrived I wasn’t sure if I had the right place or not as the shop itself is quite small but through the back and down the stairs is the most beautiful space which the owner of the store rents out. This space is literally a bloggers dream with bright white walls, lots of light and a colourful sofa to boot. The bags that you can buy are also a dream because you can customise every single part of them from the base to the insert and the handles. You can even add pink fluff if you’re channeling your inner Elle Woods!

Bloggeration OBag FactoryIt was an early start with the workshop starting at 10am on a Saturday morning but fuelled by Anges de Sucre macarons and tea by Ringtons we were all soon deep in discussion about our blogs, our hopes for the future and of course our favourite books! That good old saying Time flies when you’re having fun sure was true on this occasion and before we knew it our pizza from Basilico round the corner had arrived. Who says bloggers are just one big cliché of macarons, tea, flowers and pizza? Oh wait… Bloggeration Pizza and Flowers

Later in the afternoon we were joined by the lovely Stephenie who works as a Junior Campaigns Officer for Penguin Random House who gave us insights into that magical world of publishing as well as information on how we as bloggers could work with the company and even tips on how to go about getting our novels published – get a literary agent stat! – as well as answering our many (many) questions. PRH also very kindly gifted us a huge bag of books on top of the goody bag that Sarah had put together for us.

I honestly don’t go to events just for the “free stuff” but there were so many lovely things in there! The Go Away I’m Blogging mug is a personal favourite and has been used almost every single day.

Thank you Sarah for a wonderful event and shoutout to Zazzle her lovely sponsors.
