The London Eye

London Eye with Victoria
*Disclaimer: 365tickets provided me tickets in exchange for a blog post and video. The below opinions are still my own and not influenced by this in any way

I visited London a handful of times before I decided to take the plunge and move here and on one of those visits (although I can’t remember which) I of course did what most tourists do and headed to the Southbank and the London eye for some incredible views of the Thames. I’ve wanted to do this again for some time so when 365tickets offered me some tickets I was more than happy to oblige.

I picked a weekend when my friend Victoria was in town as I thought it would be more fun for someone who doesn’t live in the city and we had a great time. First we experienced the London Eye 4D Cinema Experience which not only told us more about the construction of the London eye (which of course coincided with the millennium) but also had some extra fun elements that will help to keep younger viewers engaged. It’s not long and it definitely adds to the experience so I’d recommend checking it out if you visit yourself.

Then it was time to hop in the eye itself. We’d tried to time it so that we could experience the sunset but actually were a little bit early (could totally have done with another rotation round lol) but this did mean that there was practically no queue and after a quick security search we pretty much walked straight on to the next available pod. The views really are something special and it’s definitely one of the best vantage points of the city.

I even put together a timelapse video of our flight which you can watch here. And there’s a different video of our trip embedded below too. Of course as it’s a tourist attraction tickets aren’t exactly cheap but there are always ways to save money and in this case if you book online in advance with then you can get them from just £21.15 for adults and £15.75 for children – I promise you it’s worth it!
